Heat Sink Customerized
Looking for tailor-made thermal products? Zaward is here to help. With decades of experience in the thermal solution field, we are confident to fulfill your requirements. Zaward supports you in developing unique products of both fans and heat sinks. Please read through the guidelines as follows:
Zaward R&D Design Flow Chart
R&D Capability for OEM
Step 1
Design Input
• Material/Surface treatment
• Application (Device name for Communication or automotive, etc.
• The dimension of heat sink
• The requirement of tolerance, etc.
Step 2
Offering Solutions
• Engineers would suggest the proper processing (ex: Extrusion, forging, die-casting, Etc., )based on customer’s requirement.
• Zaward would release official drawing for initial approval.
Step 3
Making Sample
After customer approved Zaward official drawing and ask sample for testing, Zaward would make the sample based on approved drawing.
• Mock-up (Hand-made) samples
To be quoted when sample is required.
Basically, hand made sample is produced by CNC.
Final
Step
Step
First Article Inspection
• Shall do the FAI for the samples
• Offer the data sheet
• Deliver to customer when OQC has been done for final approval
R&D Capability for Customization
Step 1 : Design Input
Customer provides following inputs for designing
- Application (e.g. Automotive, communication, etc.)
- Heat source (How many watts?)
- Target of thermal resistance (°C/W)
- Ambient temperature
- Dimension of heat sink
- Material / Surface treatment
- Other requirements (e.g. IP level, IATF16949, etc.)
Step 2 : Thermal Simulation
- Check and analyze required heat sink performance via thermal simulation software
- Determine best solution and offer 3D drawing file to customer
- Service mentioned above is considered as NRE cost and chargeable.
Step 3 : Propose solution
- Engineer would propose suitable process (e.g. extruded, forged, etc.,) based on results of thermal simulations.
- Zaward would release official drawing
Step 4 : Sample Making
- Engineer would propose suitable process (e.g. extruded, forged, etc.,) based on results of thermal simulations.
- Zaward would release official drawing
Step 5 : First Article Inspection
- Conduct FAI (First Article Inspection) for all samples.
- Offer data sheets
- Deliver sample after OQC for customer’s final approval
Step 6 : Production
- Implement below tests in the process of pilot run.
- EVT – Engineering Verification Test
- DVT – Design Verification Test
- PVT – Product Verification Test
- Move ahead to Mass Production after completing verifications and debugs.
