Zaward Vapor 120 by LANOC2010.08.23I would have never thought that this small, unassuming heatsink would be such a beast. It pulled better at-load scores than the rest of the competition. And since it's smaller, it was that much easier to install onto a motherboard that was still in the case. If I weren't saving it for a future build, I'd be using right now, it instead of my Thermalright Ultra 120. Sure, it's not going to win the beauty pageant, not that it's ugly. But it is however, going to be the one you're gonna want to take home to momma. more > |

The Zaward Vapor 120 is an incredible cooler, beating out the other heatsinks in our lineup, and for good reason. Its increased surface area on the fins and high CFM fan are a great combo. Installation was incredibly easy, and the universal mounting capability is something we think should be used more often. After all, many people wouldn't mind upgrading the cooling on their older setups while they wait to upgrade their whole system. We love that all the mounting hardware is included for all sockets in the box, so you don't have to purchase hardware later to be able to use it on another socket. Expandability to another fan is also great, and other fans can be used should you wish to use another brand. Of course, the fact that the cooler uses clips that only support 25mm fans is somewhat of a drawback. It can't support thicker fans, and the clips can be a bit cumbersome to install. Priced about $50 USD and exhibiting quiet operation and powerful cooling ability with very impressive results on an overclocked quad core CPU, the Zaward Vapor120 is an excellent choice for a heatsink. more > |

Their heat sink is the Vapor 120 and uses direct heat-pipe technology with three heat pipes at the base and a 120mm golf-dimple-blade black fan with four blue LEDs. They have also provided us with their fan, the Golf Fan GII ZG2-140A – a 140mm low dBA case fan. Both fans use the patented golf dimple blades on the impellers to create a spread of noise over differing frequencies – creating the lower dBA rating. The fans use a modified sleeve bearing called Duro bearing that claims a 60,000-hour MTTF at 40°C. Every other fin on the Vapor 120 has small dimples, each of which have holes in the center – aiding in cooling. more > |

I would advise going down the dual fan route if you were to buy it as it can help keep the noise down and still provide good performance. It is a very well presented and clean looking heatsink with a solid mounting system which I am a big fan of. None of this push clip nonsense, that heatsink is staying there! Granted it will take an extra x amount of time to mount if you have to take your motherboard out but it's worth it in my eyes. Overall a good unit. more > |
