The unprecedented pandemic, COVID-19, has rocked the whole world. The impacts are ubiquitous, from essential demands of food supply, education, governments’ responses, to geopolitics. For supply chain management, a new form of sourcing is gradually shaping in place.

VIRTUAL SOURCING
Due to travel bans, business trips are restricted. Zaward has produced a series of videos on YouTube, as an alternate virtual factory tour for buyers to know what we do, and how we work.
Zaward is located in the proximity of the outbreak and since January, we have been closely monitoring the latest status of the outbreak, the factory reopening update, supply personal protective equipment (PPE) for employee’s safety, establish alternative sources, and secure logistic capacity with flexible options.

ETHICAL SOURCING
As a leading enterprise in the heat management industry for over 20+ years, Zaward doesn’t take things for granted and keep the social responsibilities in our minds. In this issue, we will introduce our ethical principle of sourcing.
When it comes to material selection, Zaward follows own COME2RS rule.

“COM” is the abbreviation of conflict mineral here. We all know that the conflict mineral is mined in the conflict zone, especially in the east of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The most common minerals are tantalum, tungsten, and tin, which are widely applied in electronic components. Zaward promises our material doesn’t come from the conflict zone, and our material partners are required to submit the conflict minerals statement regularly.

“E” stands for equipment. Eco-friendly, energy-saving are our priorities when it comes to equipment purchase. We ensure that our production equipment discharges no dangerous waste to the environment. ISO 9001 standard is strictly followed for equipment maintenance, and equipment is inspected annually by the third-party institute when needed.

“2R” refers to REACH and RoHS. Conforming the latest version of REACH and RoHS, we implement a zero-tolerance policy for hazardous substances in our material. Related documents can be provided upon clients’ requests.

“S” means the supply chain. Over the years, Zaward has formed a complete supply chain evaluation system with aspects of company scale, ecological management, material and production control. Our mechanism sets suppliers in 3 tiers, each tier has specific standards and requirements to follow and all evaluations are in archives for examining.
