AR/VR, factory automation, automotive CMOS image sensors (CIS) are all emerging trends in technology fields and optoelectronics is an important element that they all share. Optoelectronic is the device light-emitting or detecting devices and is considered as a sub-discipline of photonics, which is the physical science of light.
 

 
What is optoelectronics
Optoelectronics – described as “a device that responds to optical power, emits or modifies optical radiation or utilizes optical radiation for its internal operation” or “any device that functions as an electrical-to-optical or optical-to-electrical transducer.” [1]
 

 
Appliances of optoelectronics
The optoelectronic industry, in general, refers to all commercial activities of appliances and equipment using optoelectronic as the key technology or components. It can be classified into five categories:
(1) Optical information –CD player, image scanner, fax machine, laser printer, etc.
(2) Optoelectronic components – light-emitting diodes (LEDs), laser diodes (LDs), liquid          crystal displays (LCDs), etc.
(3) Optical equipment and components – camera, lens, projector, projector, telescope. 
(4) Optical fiber communication – optical fiber, optical transmission receiver, connector. 
(5) Photoelectric application – photoelectric detection and control, laser processing,and         medical treatment, etc.
