More blades generate more airflow but less air pressure. On the contrary, fewer blades tend to have higher air pressure and noise due to more air circulating space.

The profile of the blade is a key factor to impeller’s efficiency and the best showcase for creative design. Narrow blade boosts higher rotation speed and is noisier. Instead, wide blade is designed for noise reduction with lower speed.
