Optional Function of DC Fan
 

 
 
DC fans were Zaward’s initial product line in thermal solution. For the time being, we continue to develop various functions enhancing the performance of DC fans and fulfilling client’s requirements.
 
-Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)
PWM enables to adjust fan speed and in accordance noise level by receiving signals from motherboard through the 4th pin. High CPU loading results in higher CPU temperature and PWM fan will speed up fan rotation for the optimized performance. In contrast, lower CPU loading, PWM fan will adjust fan speed for the ambient temperature. Both temperature control and PWM fans share same function, the main difference is temperature control has temperature sensor IC inside the fan, whilst PWM is on the motherboard.
 
-Auto restart function
When fan blades stop due to external force, auto restart function will shut down automatically to protect the fan and restart in 2 to 6 seconds to enable fan operating in normal rotation.
 
-FG signal function (Frequency Generator)
A function generator (FG) is usually a piece of electronic test equipment or software used to generate different types of electrical waveforms over a wide range of frequencies. Some of the most common waveforms produced by the function generator are the sine, square and triangular shapes. The square waves are sent from DC Fan and they show the status of fan speed. FG allows us to monitor fan’s rotation performance.
 
-RD signal function (Rotation Detector)
Rotation Detector (RD) is an alarm signal; a fan with rotating detection function has a separate output signal to detect if the fan is working properly. If it is rotating normally, the output signal appears LOW, if it stops rotating or malfunctions, the output signal appears HIGH. This function allows the computer or electric equipment to detect the fan rotation status. Also, the high output signal can help conduct malfunction alarms. A correct warning and self-protected message are the essentials for the secured system of wise products.
 
-Temperature control
The higher the ambient temperature is, the faster the fan rotates, resulting in higher noise level. Temperature control is a thermistor to detect the ambient temperature and adjust fan speed to achieve a desired average temperature. It’s significant when it comes to the placement of temperature control on the fan, for the best efficiency.
 
-Switch control
Switch control allows users to adjust the fan speed manually by using variable set resistors and ensures fan circuits functioning effectively.
 
-IP rated qualification

Heat dissipation is the prime issue for electronic devices. Zaward has developed a series of unique technology reaching high protection levels (max. IP68) to prevent electronic components and motor part from dust and steam for smooth operation.
