IDie casting is a highly efficient manufacturing process that is widely adopted in thermal field. With the advantages of producing parts like complex shapes, consistent dimension, premier quality and quick production turnover, it can easily fulfil customized design and offers a competitive price. Die-cast heat sink is broadly applied from PCB, LED lighting to high power-consuming devices and communication devices.
THE PROCESS
The three principal elements in the die casting process are the metal alloy, tool and die-cast machine. Preparation starts with die/mold design and die-cast machine set up. Then we pre-heating the tool and melt metal alloy; filling the heated tool with melted liquid. High-pressure equipment forms it as a solid metal part, then ejects the parts from the tool and applies any necessary processes such as trimming, grinding or anodizing
THE ADVANTAGE
- Shape and dimension flexibility
Less limitation than extrusion or forging processes and it can fulfil customized dimension, shape and structure.
- High volume and efficiency
Die casting can produce parts with complex shapes. The parts produced through die casting are close to the shape of the final product, therefore require less machining operations, shorter lead time which leads to significant savings.
- Cost-effective and premier quality
The integrated structure produced through die casting reduces additional cost of other machining and optimize the production rate. Furthermore, Zaward’s precision inspection equipment guarantees accurate dimension and tight tolerance.
APPLICATION
- High power laser devices in industrial and scientific fields
- LED housing and LED board in the lighting industry
- Automotive circuit board and engine shell in automobiles market
- Satellite and power distribution in communication and power generation
