| IP Fan Ingress Protection (IP) rated fan serves mostly in harsh and rigorous outdoor applications (e.g. Telecom) and those which require no dust and water ingress including charging stations, automobiles, and electrical equipment.

|
IP fan is consisted of IP code which means the protection rating. The first digit refers to solid particle protention and the second one refers to liquid ingress protection. See graphic below and click link to explore more of the technology.

| Ingress Protection Types
Various ingress protection types to achieve different levels of dust and moisture resistance. Following are various processes that are commonly used for IP functions.
– Potting process
HUB with the stator and PCB are immersed in glue. This is the conventional way to achieve the waterproof effect, however, the process is complicated and bubbles remain in the colloid resulting in inferior isolation.
– Varnish coating
The liquid coating material contains a resin that dries to a hard transparent film.
It is durable, resistant to water and abrasion characteristics, and widely adopted for fan coils and vessel surface treatments.
– CVD process
The solid material is deposited from vapor by some chemical reaction occurring on or in the vicinity of a normally heated substrate surface and yields an even and consistent thin film. It is durable, resistant to water and abrasion, even surface and thinner film than other processes, and outperforms in heat dissipation.
Fan with IP function is easy to clean subject to the grades, prolongs its life circle, and saves energy.
